Kittens For Adoption (2005-09-04)
Summer is the season stray cats give birth to kittens. The majority of the newborns will die because there are many many many more Japanese people willing to pay through the roof to buy pedigree kittens in pet shops than to adopt stray ones in shelters or parks.A group of kind hearted people in our neighborhood park who have
been feeding stray cats always round kittens up in a cage asking for
adopters. It breaks my heart to see kittens waiting for a home
because I know if they don't find one eventually, they'll end up in a
shelter to be euthanized.
Although we did buy our cat from a pet store for 25 bucks 14 years
ago (we didn't know better then), our next one will not be from a
shop. We'll open our home to a needy kitten before it gets put
down. But first thing first, let's pray we don't need to meet our
next cat
for a very long time.
